I find it helps to find inspiration in other works and branch out from there. I also will sometimes find a prompt that makes me feel passionate and just start writing and see where it leads me. It can also help to change your environment. If you normally write outside trying moving into a coffee shop. Another thing that helps me is to people watch; basing characters off the people you see in the real world is an amazing way to get inspiration.

I was drawn to reading and writing because it allowed me to have a glimmer of an escape from my real world. When I felt like everything in my world was falling apart reading and writing gave me the chance to live in a world with no problems, or in a world where I could deal with someone else’s problems.

I absolutely do. I think the most important thing about being a writer is not to write the story you think people want to hear, but rather to tell the story of your experiences. This allows your reader to connect with you and feel drawn to your work.
